First, listen to The Umbrella Analogy
Next, ask yourself these very important questions... "Do I believe that Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior who died for my sins and rose from the dead so that I may have eternal life?" - "Do I treat others the way I would want them to treat me?" - "Do I do my best to follow Christ's teachings?" - "Do I read my Bible often enough to know what God expects of me?" - "Do I want to share the love of Christ and the Word of God (Holy Scriptures) with others?" - "Do I have a testimony to share?" - "Do I even have time for this?"

God loves us so much that He gave His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, and Jesus willingly gave His life for us! He took upon Himself ALL the sins of this world (past, present and future). He suffered like no other human being has, is, or will ever suffer. He did this for you, me, and everyone else. He did this to show us the way to Salvation. By dying on the cross, He was demonstrating to us that we need to separate ourselves from our old ways. By rising from the dead He showed us that, once we are separated from our sinful ways, we are "born again" - by follwing His teachings, His ways. Of course, we are not perfect and never will be. We are bound to fall back, forget our new ways, and do stupid, thoughtless things. We are human, after all - and He knows that. But the awesome thing about what Jesus did is that He paved the way for us! He also made a promise - that He would never leave us... even to the end of days! When we stray, all we need to do is call on Him and He is there. He knows we can't do it alone...all we need to do now is, admit to ourselves that we can't!
Jesus talked to beggars, thieves, the poor and destitute, the rich and famous, the important and "not-so-important" people in town, politicians, doctors, teachers, women and children, to the sick and the healthy, to the multitude and one-on-one. You get the picture? He didn't discriminate. He talked to everyone He met. He treated everyone the same way as He would have them treat Him - problem is, we humans have much difficulty doing this! We often times chose to stereotype and label others. It's a nasty habit! But, by reading, learning and following His teachings, we can overcome those bad habits.
With patience, prayer and devotion, we can become more Christ-like. We can catch ourselves "in the act" and correct ourselves because He is with us always. His spirit speaks to us, ever so gently, and lets us know when we mess up. You know exactly what to do when you mess up...ask Him to hold your hand while you make it right. Remember, He is with you always. Have you ever read the poem "Footprints"? He carries us when we are going through hard times. That's why, when you look back, you see only one set of footprints...they're His. Saying I'm sorry (and sincerely meaning it) is another difficult thing for us to do. We don't particularly want to admit that we were wrong, and when it comes time to ask forgiveness...well, we may as well have swallowed the Sahara Dessert! Our throat is dry and the words just don't want to come out. We thirst and we refuse to drink! But, when we follow His teachings, we become humble and we realize there is no shame in asking forgiveness. When that happens, it becomes easier to forgive others, also! Isn't that amazing?!
Reading God's Word on a daily basis, we discover a whole new world opening for us. We learn what He expects of us and what we can do for others. We also learn how to live life as He intended for us. He wants us to experience peace and comfort...love and hope. He has so much to offer us! Rediscover what God has planned for us by reading His promises. Do this on a daily basis. When people tell me things like, "My baby didn't come with a manual" or "When I said 'I do' at the alter, I thought that was all I need to do...where's the manual?" , I show them the Bible. This is the one and only "manual" that was written for us on life's daily issues. It's the "Everything-you-needed-to-know-but-didn't-bother-reading" manual! All too often, we tend to throw away the instructions thinking, "Oh - I can handle it" - until we get frustrated with our failures and start saying, "Agggghh! - Why didn't anyone warn me it would be this difficult?"
We've all been there - done that. Jesus showed us that the best lessons are taught through storytelling. People are always willing to hear a good story. We all have stories to share - our testimonies. By sharing your trials, sorrows, and all the good stuff too, and then reveal how you overcame or rejoiced, you are sharing the Living Truth of God's Word. And it doesn't take any more time away from your daily chores or activities because when you share your testimony, it is part of your daily routine. Remember, He is with you always. He opens many doors for you to have an opportunity to share!
